KINGDOM OF LOVE

The heart wherein lies peace is a quiet pool,
Hushed and deep,
Holding ancient unutterable beauty
Safe in its keep.

The heart that joy inhabits is a spring
Bubbling clear.
There music wells, and often a rainbow light
Colors the air.

The heart where strength abides is a mighty river
Seeking the sea;
Though current and tide conflict, far down prevails
Tranquillity.

But the heart in which Love rules is a vast ocean
Laving the shore,
Enveloping the mead, the scarp, the sand dune,
More, more, and more.
