RUTH AND THE LITTLE FOXES

[Of Special Interest to Children]

"Everything went wrong today!" announced Ruth, climbing into the car beside her mother after school.

Her mother smiled, because she did not believe this could be so. Ruth usually had such lovely things to tell about her day at school, but the story that came tearfully from the little girl today was not a happy one. A "best friend" who would not play with her; a teacher who was unjust; an arithmetic paper badly done; a knee hurt at games period—it was a very sad account. "Everything went wrong today!" Ruth said again.

Her mother thought a moment about the many times she too had wanted to believe that one day was less happy than another, and then she began saying aloud the Bible verse Ruth and she always repeated on the way to school each morning (Ps. 118:24): "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."
