RIGHT ACTIVITY

Christian Science offers a sure solution to the problems of those seeking employment. First of all, it must be understood that this Science is demonstrable, founded on Principle, and is the law of divine government operating in our behalf. When man is seen to be created in the image and likeness of God one begins to recognize right endeavor as an ever-present possibility, maintained and sustained by God. In the degree that this is done, there is completeness, which includes right activity, made manifest in one's experience.

Mary Baker Eddy says of activity in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 159), "The infinite will not be buried in the finite; the true thought escapes from the inward to the outward, and this is the only right activity, that whereby we reach our higher nature." In the Bible we read this profound statement concerning right activity (Isa. 55:10, 11): "As the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

A careful study of these statements assures one that it is God's will to reveal the divine purpose in man. Thus activity is an integral part of God's plan for His image and likeness, an eternal law enforcing itself through Spirit's natural expression, man.
