As a young girl I learned to love...

As a young girl I learned to love and to have faith in the teachings of the Bible and to some extent to apply its teachings to the problems which arose in my experience. For several years my daily prayer had been: "Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day" (Ps. 25: 4, 5). When I was led into Christian Science, this prayer enabled me to see that I had found the truth of God, man, and the universe, the truth which Christ Jesus said "shall make you free" (John 8:32).

At the first lecture I attended— my introduction to Christian Science—I was healed and left the lecture hall freed from the effects of an operation for malformation in the nose, which had left me ill and unable to carry on my activities. I had glimpsed the allness of God.

Days of gratitude, joy, health, harmony, peace, and happiness followed my taking up the study of Christian Science; and I found that I was able to help myself and others through the simple understanding of the allness of God, good, and of His reflection, perfect man and perfect universe.
