I should like to tell of a healing...

I should like to tell of a healing I had about two years ago of diarrhea. I had three attacks, and for the first two I asked help of a Christian Science practitioner. This help was most lovingly given, and the diffculty was overcome quickly. When the third attack came the practitioner was out of the city. I thought of calling another, but knowing that God is ever present I decided to work for myself. With this decision came a calm, joyous assurance of divine Love's protection from all evil.

Through prayerful reading of the ninety-first Psalm and the definitions of God and man from our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, all pain ceased. There remained some weakness, but as I clung gratefully to Truth, the following sentence from the textbook came to me (pp. 390, 391): "Rise in the conscious strength of the spirit of Truth to overthrow the plea of mortal mind, alias matter, arrayed against the supremacy of Spirit." I arose from my bed completely free, and the healing has been permanent.

Another healing was that of a deep open sore which seemed slow in healing. I asked help of a practitioner and was told to look up references in the Bible and in Mrs. Eddy's writings on the word satisfied. The following two references proved very helpful (Prov 20: 13): "Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread;" and (Science and Health, p. 240): "If at present satisfied with wrongdoing, we must learn to loathe it. If at present content with idleness, we must become dissatisfied with it."
