Signs of the Times

An editorial in the Advance Whippany, New Jersey

On many occasions Christ counseled against fear. He knew there were many fears that could take hold of a man until they worked destruction....

Christ's admonitions against fear were not the encouragement of a mere optimist. He recognized that there are things men ought to fear. But he stressed that there are other things which we ought not to fear at all. "Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul," he said; "but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
