LETTERS TO THE PRESS

Under the heading "Health Topics—Common Sense" a doctor makes statements that could give your readers a false impression of Christian Science, although I feel sure that was not his intention.

While it is natural for one who has been raised by Christian Science parents and thus has seen this Science demonstrated to continue with that demonstration for himself, it would be incorrect to say that Christian Science gained its "followers in the beginning, not through a personal knowledge possessed by the initiate, but because of a previous directing of his thought along a certain line by someone in whom he has had confidence."
