True Ease or Rest

Probably every human being plans and hopes for a period of ease. To be free from the strains of laborious living, some seek the pleasures of the senses, some repose, others retirement. Those, however, who are seeking a true sense of ease will find it in an understanding of spiritual reality based upon a knowledge of God as divine Life, Truth, and Love, and of man in His image and likeness. They will then begin to find their true identity as the sons and daughters of God.

This unfoldment of their true selfhood enables them in greater measure to express in daily life the spiritual qualities of brotherly love, compassion, cheerfulness, intelligence, and confidence in good. When one steadfastly contemplates the spiritual fact that man's being is one with the divine Principle of the universe, he opens his consciousness to the healing and rejuvenating energies of Spirit.

True ease is characterized by joy, freedom, and dominion over the confining beliefs of mortals. In contrast, a sense of ease in matter, whether passive or active, is a dream state in which uncertainty characterizes every condition. True ease comes with an awakening to those spiritual truths which promote rest in activity and continuous spiritual growth.
