Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Alabama

About thirty-eight newspapers are publishing the Lesson-Sermon excerpts with a fair degree of regularity. The "Gems of Thought," which are quotations from well-known writers, including Mary Baker Eddy, are sent each week to twenty-five newspapers. A number of our Alabama newspapers gave us a total of one hundred and four inches of space in their columns for the reporting of our Annual Meeting.

An average of over seventy-five metropolitan and rural newspapers are receiving subscriptions to The Christian Science Monitor in exchange for advertising. Our Monitor is also an important missionary of good will. It has done an incalculable amount of good in the making of many friends among the editors of our state. Its news content and editorials are widely quoted by them.
