True Glory

Paul instructed the church at Corinth (I Cor. 1:31), "He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord." False estimates of glory, as bestowed by materiality, have misled mortals in every age. Mortals have been beguiled by the blandishments of money, wealth, and fame into bending their efforts toward false aims, often using sinful means to achieve glory.

The poet Shelley tells of a traveler from an antique land who had found a stone bearing this inscription:
