To people the world over who have had their sons taken from high school before graduation and inducted into the armed forces, I wish to send this testimony of gratitude to God.

All the joy and happiness we have experienced has come from the study and application of Christian Science. It is now over two years since our son, just eighteen and in his last year of high school, was taken into the Army. I had a great sense of resentment toward the Selective Service Board and all those connected with it for drafting school-age boys, as I thought there were enough young men who had finished their school-work. It was not long, however, before I saw that he could not be where God had not gone before and prepared the way. I was almost overcome with loneliness. The latter problem was not easy to work out, but like all healings accomplished in Science, this healing did not leave me where it found me.

The boy was sent to Fort Lewis, where he had the help and guidance of a Wartime Minister. For this I shall never be able to express enough gratitude. While in this camp he was healed of a cold so severe that at times he was delirious. Then he was stricken with measles, but the healing of this came overnight through his study and application of Christian Science. The next morning he passed his physical examination, perfectly free from any blemish. While on a bivouac he lost his wrist watch, but through his declarations of truth it was soon returned to him.
