The reading of the biography...

The reading of the biography of Mary Baker Eddy by Dr. Lyman P. Powell, fourteen years ago, crystallized my interest in the study of Christian Science. Shortly afterwards I was healed of the use of cigarettes which had steadily increased, although from time to time through human will power I had tried to quit smoking.

While living in Dallas, Texas, about five years ago, I stopped at a service station to put water in the radiator of the car, since it appeared to be very hot. There being no attendant present at that hour, I opened the hood of the car, and as I did so, the radiator exploded, owing to a defective thermostat. The cap was blown many feet distant. Live steam and hot water scalded me from my head to my waist. The pain seemed excruciating. My wife drove me home as rapidly as possible and I hurried into the house. Directly at the end of the hallway down which I passed was a large mirror in which I could see the broken flesh, and large water blisters forming Where the skin was not broken.

The help of a practitioner was immediately asked and his words of wisdom and immediate help are gratefully acknowledged.
