Christian Science Committee on Publication for Yorkshire, England, Reports

Despite evidences of the continued shortage of newsprint which would further restrict available space, editors continue to grant us a generous proportion for our publicity.

It is remarkable that the few attacks on Christian Science as reported in the press during the year were all made by clergymen; they were directed against our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and against the doctrine of Christian Science. These attacks when reported in the public press present an opportunity for pointedly stating the truth. Each of this Committee's replies was published and given as much space and prominence as the attack.

One clergyman moved the venue of his attack to the private preserves of his parish magazine. When the Committee got in touch with him he said that he considered it his duty to attack Christian Science because its teaching was not in accord with the Christian conception and doctrine of his church.
