A severe ordeal aroused in me a deep desire to learn the truth about God. Within two weeks after this experience, I was brought in close business contact with one who through his love and practical exemplification of the teachings of Christian Science led me to the study of its textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

However, I found it difficult to accept its teachings regarding the unreality of evil and matter. My friend then advised me to take those statements in the textbook which I was ready to accept and apply them in my daily experiences. Earnestly endeavoring to do this, I soon found my entire outlook changed. I began consciously to seek good everywhere, to appreciate the efforts of others, and to help lighten their burdens. I tried to express Love to the best of my ability and realized it was my "Father's good pleasure" to give His child the kingdom—the reign or abundance of good. I finally learned that man does not dwell in a material world, but in the realm of consciousness, that, as Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 468), "All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." I gained an increased understanding of God's allness, and the consequent nothingness of evil and matter.

In a short time, I found myself healed of constipation, neurasthenia, emaciation, sleeplessness, pessimism, discouragement, lack, domestic discord, and business in-harmony. I have also experienced many other healings through the application of Christian Science alone, including those of colds and coughs, ivy poisoning and skin diseases, headaches, toothaches, and fever. Many remarkable demonstrations in business have proved that God's law is ever operating to bring about harmony and supply. Jesus said (Matt. 6:33), "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Mrs. Eddy has written in Science and Health (Pref., p x), "The divine Principle of healing is proved in the personal experience of any sincere seeker of Truth."
