The Apostle John said (I John 4:16), "God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him." In "Miscellaneous Writings" Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, in speaking of Love, says (p. 249), "What a word! I am in awe before it," and in Science and Health (p. 494) she states, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." My consciousness is overflowing with love and I have proved that divine Love has met and is meeting my every need.

As a boy I was brought up in a Christian home and for many years I was an active worker in various Protestant churches. However, although I knew that Christianity stood for all that was good in life, my concept of God was material.

Several years ago I was afflicted with an ailment that was called a nervous condition of the neck, causing uncontrolled action of the head. Fear began to creep in, and a physician I consulted told me to rub the neck with liniment; an eye, ear, and throat specialist told me to have most of my teeth removed; a surgeon told me that my physical condition was good, but that nothing could be done for the trouble other than to take a rest; a nerve specialist prescribed a change of environment; an osteopath said he thought I had a nervous tick; and a chiropractor suggested a misplaced atlas; but X-ray examinations showed nothing. Christian Science has since taught me that it was in reality exactly nothing.
