Prayers

JESSIE B. SHEUERMAN

How do you pray, my brother?
Are your prayers supplication—
Asking—pleading for something material?
Such prayers are limitation,
Not unfoldment.
Let your prayers be affirmation,
Wherein God is extolled,
His power declared.
Then His love will unfold,
His truth be bared.
