Obedience

Do you move freely on the mountain height,
With feet unfettered and with heart unbound?
When you look upward,
Are the stars more bright?
And do you tread unshod
On holy ground?
Do you stand tiptoe
At the gates of praise?
Does song unsummoned
Cheer the waiting hour?
Is God seen moving in mysterious ways
When midnight gloom
Would veil the Spirit's power?
If this be so,
Then may you well rejoice
That Love divine has lit your pilgrim way,
For you have learned to listen for His voice,
And when He speaks
You hasten to obey.
