Everything good that has come to me in the past sixteen years has been brought by Christian Science. Through the study and application of this Science I have had many beautiful healings and experiences. Because of my desire to know more of good, I was protected and guided while living in a strange city. Later I was stricken with appendicitis in a severe form, but with the help of a practitioner I was soon able to be up and around. My mother, who was not a Christian Scientist, was very much frightened at the time, and later told me that she had thought I was passing on. She finally turned wholeheartedly to God and confided me to His care. Then came the change in the condition, which had seemed very serious.

At one time I fell down four concrete steps, turning both ankles and bruising my knee. I immediately got up, brushed myself off, and went about my business. Later, in the evening, both ankles ached and were swollen. A friend suggested that I stay off my feet the rest of the evening and the next day. I found this suggestion undesirable, inasmuch as my duties for the next day required my being on my feet for at least two hours. I immediately rebuked the thought of inactivity, and knew I should be in my right place. I am thankful to say I was so completely free the next day that I was able to play active games with some small children.

I am very grateful for the Christian Science Hymnal. Recently, one of our little boys seemed to be feverish and to lag physically. Just before bedtime, I picked out of the Hymnal all the songs both boys knew, and we sang them. We repeated several because they loved them so. By morning the fever had disappeared and the error was not even mentioned.
