Cedar Rapids Gazette

The writer of the column "Everyday Living" in a recent issue of the Gazette, when incidentally referring to Christian Science, chose to classify it with certain other teachings and spoke of all of them as merely "half-truths." This comment on Christian Science clearly indicates an utter lack of accurate information regarding that Christian religion, and for the benefit of your many readers I should like space in your paper to correct the wrong impression the remark conveyed.

Mrs. Eddy, when writing about the healing works of Christ Jesus, said (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, pp. 476, 477): "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick." Thus it is seen that the truth found in Christian Science is that of which the Master declared, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Thousands of testimonies of the healing of sickness and other discordant conditions in the experience of those who have known God or Truth as the only healer in Christian Science, furnish convincing proof that this Christian teaching embodies not merely a partial truth, but the full truth about God and spiritual man in His image and likeness as taught by the master Christian.
