God Careth for Thee

Fear not to launch thy boat upon life's seas,
Uncharted though they be, with storm-swept wave;
Thy Father calls, "Be not disturbed, My child,
For I am ever near to help and save."

And though thy little boat may twist and toss,
And though the skies be filled with strange alarms,
Thy God is here, all tenderness and love,
And thou wilt find safe shelter in His arms.

Fret not thyself if sometimes thou must wait
To know God's will, to know He hears thy prayer;
As certain as the day shall follow night
Will come assurance of His tender care.

Hold out thy hands and take God's gifts today;
Claim as thine own His joy and peace divine.
Nor search the future dim for blessings vague—
God's lovely gifts are here, and now are thine.

So trust in Him who cares for little ones,
And always hears their very faintest call;
Stand firm, doubt not, nor ever be afraid;
Walk close with Him who marks the sparrow's fall.
