Fort William, Ontario, Canada (First Church).—Dedication services were held on Sunday, September 25, 1938, at the Christian Science church in this city. A short historical sketch of the members' activities was read.

On June 30, 1913, a small group of Christian Scientists met at 1301 Ford Street for the purpose of considering and discussing plans for the organization, in Fort William, of a branch of The Mother Church. It was decided unanimously at this meeting to rent a hall in the Masonic Temple, May Street, and begin holding Wednesday evening testimony meetings and Sunday morning services.

On July 10, 1913, it was decided to organize a Reading Room for quiet study, where the Bible and authorized Christian Science literature could be borrowed or purchased, and so the first Reading Room in Fort William was opened. The first lecture was given on April 23, 1914, and delivered in the City Hall Auditorium.
