Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

The attitude of the press continues to grow more friendly to Christian Science as it is gradually coming to have a truer sense of its meaning, partly owing to the work of this Committee. Fewer critical articles are being published, and editors are growing more ready to publish items offered by this Committee.

Last year only twenty-eight articles calling for correction were reported in Lancashire papers, and twenty-seven replies were published. Other ordinary press references to Christian Science which were reported in the press of the county, and which called for no correction, numbered ninety. The Lesson-Sermon excerpts from the Christian Science Quarterly have been published by fifty-nine newspapers in the course of the year.

The Coronation issue of the Monitor was sent to every paper in the county and was highly commended by a number of them. The owner and manager of one paper said, "It is a marvelous piece of work; there must be a wonderful organization behind such a production. My wife and I have gone through it from beginning to end—we intend to keep it by us for future reference."
