For the manifold blessings which have come to me through Christian Science, I should like to express my gratitude, at least in some measure.

After vainly searching many years in religions, books, and so on, for an acceptable explanation of God and the purpose of my life, I heard of Christian Science. The beauty and logic of the explanations contained in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, appealed to me greatly. I enjoyed reading this book, but so long as I supposed Christian Science to be a presentation of personal views regarding God and man, I was able to make little practical use of it. Nevertheless, I was very grateful to have found the path leading to Love.

It was extreme distress of mind which forced me to call upon Christian Science for help as a provable Science. Nearly in despair because of the sudden passing on of one dear to me, I clung to Christian Science and insisted that it give me proof of being Science and save me. A dear friend and practitioner brought me a copy of a Christian Science lecture, which penetrated the darkness like a ray of light and turned my suffering into joy. Then I perceived that Christian Science is indeed the Comforter promised by our Master, Christ Jesus. From that hour this perception served me as the basis for a new and effective study of the Bible and Science and Health. What these two books have revealed to me in the light of divine Science has gradually constructed a new and active life in Spirit, the true life in divine Love.
