"Blessed are the peacemakers"

Blessed are ye that make for peace,
The eternal promise stands.
Hear, O ye nations of the earth,
And courage take, O lands
That seek the path of tyranny
And grasping greed to stay;
That greatly strive to have men walk
In wisdom's warless way!
Upheld your hands are by the law
Of Him who made all things.
Then falter not in purpose pure,
Though mad ambition flings
Its battle front from shore to shore
In war's most cruel din;
Though godless creeds and theories
Of might in matter win
Their momentary victories,
Let not your efforts cease.
Blessed indeed of God and men
Are they that make for peace.
Mind speaks and none can stay His hand,
Or make His promise vain.
Omnipotence alone hath power,
And Love supreme doth reign.
