Through the deep sense of gratitude that I have for God and for the teachings of Christian Science I give this testimony. My human experience has been completely transformed, purely through my thinking.

Following the birth of our first child seven years ago I manifested all the effects of an exophthalmic goiter. I was taken to a specialist, and the goiter was removed. Two years later our second child came, and following this I had the same manifestations that followed the first childbirth. Upon thorough examination the doctors admitted the same symptoms—only exaggerated this time. But the examination showed no goiter. They very lovingly gave treatment, consisting of rest, proper diet, and so forth; but my condition grew decidedly worse. Finally I was brought home, as there was nothing more they could do. We sent our little boys away, procured the services of a nurse, and from September until the following February I tried rest and quiet. By the end of this period, when there was no perceptible improvement, I was willing and ready for anything that would offer release from this terrible bondage. It was at this time that Christian Science was presented to me.

I shall always remember how happy I was when I first glimpsed the fact that Christian Science gives the correct understanding of God and man. Almost immediately I began to manifest strength, alertness, and a desire for activity that had not been shown for several years. In two months our babies returned home, and by October I was doing all the necessary home duties.
