Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Vermont.

A number of newspapers are carrying our Lesson-Sermon excerpts, which are arranged by the Committee and sent to the Assistants for distribution to newspapers in their districts. Two more newspapers are printing the subject and the Golden Text from the excerpts supplied them by Assistant Committees. Through a better understanding on the part of the public and press no attacks upon Christian Science through the medium of the newspapers have come to my attention during the year.

The Monitor is making many friends among editors. A subscription to the Monitor was given by this Committee to the editor of the Burlington Free Press, who was delighted with the paper, and sent me a very appreciative letter thanking me for it. He has frequently quoted the Monitor editorially. A number of papers in Vermont reprint articles and opinions from our international daily newspaper. Clergymen have, in a few instances, given unqualified praise to the Monitor.
