It is with a heart full of gratitude that I testify to the healing power of Christian Science. On page 444 of Science and Health Mrs. Eddy writes, "Step by step will those who trust Him find that 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.' " In my experience conditions such as boils, fractured elbows, sprains, and other discordant conditions have been healed through the application of Christian Science.

Our Leader explains on page 397 of the textbook how accidents are to be overcome. While I was in grammar school, my family purchased a new washing machine. I had intended to put a wet piece of cloth through the wringer, but instead of the cloth going through, the fingers of my right hand went through the revolving rollers. Before I realized what had occurred, the rollers were passing over my hand, wrist, forearm, and on up to my elbow. Of course, I screamed. My mother, who was upstairs at the time, instantly realized what had taken place. She declared audibly that God is all-power and that in God's kingdom there can be no accidents. Error was denied the power to make me manifest any broken bones or lacerated skin. This was at noon; at one o'clock I went back to school, and later that afternoon I pitched a nine-inning ball game.

Words are indeed inadequate to express my gratitude for the healing power of Christian Science. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church, for the periodicals, the lectures, the Sunday services, and the Christian Science practitioners. —Harold Lawson, Berwyn, Illinois.
