Reflection

EVERYONE must choose for himself whether he will accept as real Truth or error. The changing, shifting mortal beliefs and opinions continually urged upon the attention by the press, in conversation, and in human associations in general pertain to a counterfeit world, without reality or stability. Christian Science reveals man as the true reflection, image, or likeness of God, infinite good.

By demonstration of the truth of being the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science proved that it is not necessary for men to accept the burdens of fear, hate, disease, limitation, and sorrow ensuing from the belief in existence as material. All have ever before them the opportunity of reversing false beliefs of every kind with the truth, and of thus finding their true identity as the reflection of God. Mrs. Eddy has written in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (pp. 503, 504), "God, Spirit, dwelling in infinite light and harmony from which emanates the true idea, is never reflected by aught but the good." Whatever the material senses may say to the contrary, in reality there is nothing but good.

An interesting analogy occurred to the writer while studying the properties of light. Although the sun is pouring out radiant energy at an enormous rate, the space between the sun and the planets is completely devoid of illumination and warmth. Light becomes manifest only when the solar rays meet the earth's atmosphere. Then we see the diffused light which causes the blue sky and prevents even the shadows from being wholly dark. No warmth is apparent in the solar rays until they strike an object; then they become evident as heat.
