Listening and Following

[Written Especially for Children]

There surely is not a Christian Scientist anywhere who does not love to sing Mrs. Eddy's hymn beginning "Shepherd, show me how to go" (Miscellaneous Writings, pp. 397, 398; Poems, p. 14); but perhaps we do not always remember that every time we sing the following lines from the first stanza we make three promises:

"I will listen for Thy voice,
Lest my footsteps stray;
I will follow and rejoice
All the rugged way."
