Christian Science came to me when I was a young girl...

Christian Science came to me when I was a young girl and I accepted its teachings at that time, but I did not have a very clear understanding of it for many years. I am very grateful for more understanding that has since come to me.

I wish to tell of a very beautiful healing I received four years ago when our youngest daughter was born. The birth itself was very harmonious, taking place practically without pain. However, a few hours afterward, an inharmonious condition appeared, namely, convulsions. They seemed so violent and were manifested so frequently that the physician—who was called in for the benefit of a member of the home who did not rely on Christian Science—gave no hope of my recovery. After the second day he gave my case up, saying it would be impossible for me to live if any more of the convulsions occurred. They did appear in greater force and number after this. I was under a Christian Science practitioner's loving care from start to finish, and was completely healed in a few days after the physician gave the case up. I was also healed, during this time, of extreme nervousness and blindness which followed the convulsions. I am indeed grateful for the courageous practitioner who so ably and constantly stood for God's allness at this time.

I am also grateful to the Christian Science nurse and all those who so lovingly stood by me during this trial. The healing led to more understanding than I ever had before, and has always been an inspiration when things have seemed dark since then. I have received many other healings during the years since I have known of Christian Science, and I am grateful for all of them; and especially grateful for more love for Mrs. Eddy.
