In your issue of August 13 is a report of a sermon delivered by a bishop in which he classes "spiritualism, Christian Science, and magical sacramentalism as fantastic types of beliefs." As this report may mislead some of your readers regarding Christian Science, space in your columns in which to make the necessary correction is respectfully requested.

While Christian Scientists do not attack the religious beliefs of those who differ from them, but recognize the right of the individual to choose that form of religion which he deems most suitable, it is but right to state that Christian Science has nothing in common with spiritualism or magical sacramentalism.

Christian Science and Christianity are one. To be a Christian is to be a follower of Christ Jesus, accepting his teaching and practice. This is Christian Science. Christian Scientists acknowledge Christ Jesus as the Son of God and as the Messiah. They strive to follow in his footsteps and to fulfill his commands to "heal the sick." There is, therefore, nothing about Christian Science which could be termed either fantastic or supernatural; but, rather, it is applied Christianity.
