[Written for the Sentinel]

To the Christian Science Practitioner

May Love divine thy close companion be,
And guide thy footsteps all along life's way,
And may Love give to thee that wondrous peace
The world can neither give nor take away.

May all thy thoughts of purity and love
Enrich the lives of those who seek thine aid;
Thou hast indeed a noble, joyous task —
To send them onward, free and unafraid!

May every morning dawn for thee more bright,
And all thy work be crowned with rich success;
May blessings daily multiply for thee,
As thou thy brother man dost seek to bless.

When day is o'er and thou dost take thy rest,
May Love's protecting arms around thee be;
And May'st thou waken with the consciousness
That from pure Love thou ne'er canst parted be.

Love is the only consciousness there is,
For Love is God, the ever present Mind;
'Tis Love alone enables thee to tread
Thy path of unselfed labor for mankind.
