Jesus said, "Freely ye have received, freely give;" so I feel I must express my gratitude for the manifold blessings that have come to us. Christian Science has been a beacon light to us the past few years. Through the study and application of its teachings many discords have been destroyed. It has brought joy and peace into our home; and now we can go on with confidence and assurance, knowing that divine Love will guide and sustain us. One thing I am unspeakably grateful for, and that is that I am learning to understand and love the Bible. Before becoming a student of Christian Science I reads the Bible because I thought everyone should reads it, but it was just ancient history to me. Now it is my daily companion, and I rejoice because of the spiritual understanding of it I am gaining.

I have had many healings, but one especially I should like to tell about as it was such a wonderful proof to me that the so-called law of heredity has neither reality nor power. For generations numerous relatives had passed on with tuberculosis, and several in my immediate family also. Finally, the belief that I was the next one to come under this law was accepted, and the manifestation became very evident. Just at this time I decided to take up the study of Christian Science, not expecting to be healed, but for help and comfort, as I thought because of past experiences that there was little hope of cure for this trouble. I soon realized, as I read, that I could be healed. So I studied faithfully and had help from a practitioner occasionally. One day as I sat reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the thought came to me very clearly that God is my Father and Mother. I laid the book down and reasoned thus: If God is my Father and Mother, and God is good, then I have never inherited anything but good. I was instantaneously healed of the disease and also of the fear of it; and in a short time all the symptoms disappeared.

Each day I am striving to live the gratitude I feel for this blessed truth that has come to free mankind from the false beliefs that have seemed so real. I know my debt of gratitude can be paid only by living in obedience to the laws of God. I am profoundly grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for the privilege of class instruction.
