I have known of Christian Science for many years, and...

I have known of Christian Science for many years, and it has been my only help during that time. Christian Science has got me out of many troubles, and has healed both my children and myself of many diseases. About two years ago I was healed at a Christian Science lecture of a mental darkness which was paralyzing right activity. From the moment of the healing my whole life began to be changed. Every material condition—environment, work, and so forth—was altered within a very few months for the better; in fact, whereas before I was apparently knocking myself against every wall of human opinion, now I see where my work lies, and the way is straight and clear before me. I was also healed of physical difficulties at two other lectures.

Some time ago I had a wonderful healing. One of my boys had to have some teeth out, and there seemed to be a lot of fear about it which I myself could not meet. I asked a Christian Science practitioner for treatment, and we were wonderfully helped. Fear left us and everything went off very well. That night I was in the boy's room studying the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, especially the passage (p. 463) where our Leader says, "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive." I must have fallen asleep, because I woke with a loud sneeze; and almost at the same moment a very large growth came away from the back of my nose quite naturally, and without any difficulty at all. I was told afterwards that, from a medical point of view, this sort of growth could be removed only by a delicate operation. This was such a proof to me that all we need is to know more of the truth, and that this truth will uncover error and destroy it in the best way.

My eldest boy was healed almost instantaneously about four years ago, while at school, of a very severe attack of appendicitis, when the doctor was preparing for an immediate operation. A practitioner was telephoned to for help. I went to the school and found the boy in considerable pain. Very soon this ceased, and the doctor said he would wait till morning before operating. The next day he examined the boy thoroughly, and said there was no sign of appendicitis. I have seen all sorts of difficulties in my family, both physical and mental, yield to the application of the truth.
