A medical writer, whose article appeared in the Journal, stated, in answer to a question, that one of the causes of insanity given by patients and their families was "Christian Science malpractice." Permit me to say that there is no such thing as Christian Science malpractice. Malpractice is not Christian Science, but is the seeming opposite of Christian Science practice. Christian Science has never caused insanity: but it heals insanity. Christian Science imparts an understanding of the beneficent power of the divine Mind, God; and Christian Science practice is the utilization of this spiritual power. The only possible application of Christian Science is to do good, not evil; to heal disease, never to induce it; to help and strengthen, to comfort and bless. Christian Science is teaching mankind how to make practical the words of the Psalmist, "Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; there shall no evil befall thee."
