The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

London, England (First Church).

Lecturer: Richard J. Davis; introduced by Mrs. Ethel Mary Wood, who said:—

Christian Science reveals the God of love, to whom we can bring for healing not only spiritual and moral problems but problems of business, of ill health, and of loneliness. It teaches us that through an understanding of the omniscience and omnipresence of divine Love we can vanquish them all; not by resignation and acceptance of them, but by eliminating them from our consciousness. Through earnest seeking and striving, some fifty-nine years ago a woman sufficiently pure in heart for the vision, caught a glimpse of this divine revelation, and thereafter never rested till she had learned the Science or laws governing that universe which God Himself pronounced to be very good. These laws emanate from divine Mind, not from the so-called human mind; and Mary Baker Eddy has reduced them to a plain statement, practically available for the benefit of all men.
