[Written for the Sentinel]

Look Up!

How many times the human heart,
Burdened with all its woe,
Turns wearily to present Love,
And meekly prays to know.

How humbly prays the broken heart,
Kneeling in thought to God,
For strength to carry out its day
And might to use His rod.

How thankfully the contrite heart
Hears tender Love's sweet call:
Look up; lift up; rejoice alway!
Thy God is All-in-all.
