I first learned of Christian Science in the home of my aunt, and was very much impressed. It was at this time that the seed of Truth was sown in my consciousness. Some time after that I had what is called yellow jaundice, and, not knowing there were practitioners everywhere, U returned to this city, where I first heard of Christian Science, and there was told of a lady to whom I could go for help. I lost no time in doing this, as my condition was becoming critical. I was lovingly told to purchase a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and to do so immediately. Then the practitioner told me that we had to work, which to me meant to study; and we did. I do not know how to say I am grateful, when I think of what happened in the period of two weeks; for I was completely healed of this disease and of other conditions that had troubled me for some time. Things changed; I saw everything in a new light, a brighter one by far, because I was being born again. Since that time, about six years ago, Christian Science has been everything to me, and I have realized much of its good fruits.

I am grateful to the Christian Science friends who have helped to show me the way; also to the practitioner who took me like a child and taught me that I have a heavenly Father-Mother, the same as all of God's children, and that the one infinite Mind is ever present. I am grateful to my teacher in Christian Science, whose loving help has taught me to build on a solid foundation. I am grateful to know that there is but one God, and one way,—the way Christ Jesus demonstrated. I am grateful to know that gratitude is expressed in obedience to the one God. This understanding started and has sustained me in the business I now own. I am grateful for the privilege of being a member of The Mother Church and a branch church and to have a Sunday school class to teach,—one of my richest blessings; and I can thank God only by trying to impart to these boys the truth which I knew not at their age.

I am grateful to God; to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; and to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who was far too loving towards mankind to withhold the inspired revelation of the one Mind.—Leo Johnson, East St. Louis, Illinois.
