It is with a great sense of gratitude that I offer my testimony of what Christian Science means to me. When I began the study of this teaching, a little over four years ago, it was not for physical healing, but rather from a need to know God. The church in which I had been brought up had failed to give me a God that I could understand, and for years I had not been to church more than a few times. My sister owned a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and I became interested in reading it. Then I bought a copy and began going to the church services. After about six months I was healed of sick headaches and bilious attacks, which had been troubling me for a number of years and were becoming more and more frequent. This was all the proof I needed that I had found the truth for which I was looking. From that time I never took medicine again. Later on, I went to a practitioner for help with a problem that was troubling me, and with her loving help it was solved. Since then I have had healings of colds, a sprained foot, also a trouble with my back for which I had been treated by an osteopath before I became interested in Christian Science. A great sense of fear has likewise been overcome, especially fear of sea voyages.

The physical healings are as nothing to me in comparison with the sense of peace and happiness that has come from even my slight understanding of God and of man as His reflection. I am grateful to be a member of The Mother Church, and for class instruction, which helps one to understand God better as the divine Principle which heals and saves. I am also very grateful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her unselfish wisdom and love in giving us the textbook and all her other writings, together with the Journal, Sentinel, and Monitor.—(Mrs.) Julia Hubbard Cage, Washington, District of Columbia.
