I am glad to testify to the healing and regenerating power...

I am glad to testify to the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science. When I began the study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was sick and unhappy. For many months I read this book, but material sense was so darkened that I understood very little of it. During an attack of tonsillitis, which I had experienced often, I went to a Christian Science practitioner for the first time. There I was told tenderly and gently of God's love for me. My thought was so filled with this comforting truth, and such a spiritual uplift came, that I thought no more of the illness for several hours, when to my astonishment I realized I was completely healed. There has been no recurrence of the disease since that time. I weighed seventy pounds at that time; and as I continued studying, denying material beliefs and forgetting false law, I gradually gained forty pounds, making my normal weight.

I had always longed for a logical religion, and as the textbook unfolded more and more to my hungering thought, I experienced more joy and satisfaction than I had ever known. There was always "a reason of the hope" that was in me, and the proofs were demonstrated daily. Sick headaches, which physicians said would always continue, have been overcome. A badly crushed finger was perfectly healed in ten days, and absolutely no sense of pain was present at any time. Christian Science has surely proved to be the "pearl of great price," for it has brought me health, happiness, and prosperity.

I am grateful for the help of practitioners, for class instruction, for the privilege of working in a branch church, and most grateful to our dear Leader for making Christian Science available for all mankind, and to our Father-Mother God, whose "mercy endureth for ever."
