[Written for the Sentinel]

Surrender

Be still, my heart, and wait;
Hast thou not heard it said,
"Desire which goes forth hungering,"*
Shall not return unfed?

So rest within this thought,
And leave all else with Him.
Does He not mark the sparrow's fall,
And bring the lost sheep in?

Dear patient, loving Father,
I know Thou leadest me;
Forgive that I should e'er forget
To leave all things with Thee.
