Christian Science Lectures

The purpose of Christian Science lectures is not to entertain but to instruct. Therefore those who go to these lectures merely for entertainment are quite likely to be disappointed. On the other hand, those who go with a desire to learn something about Christian Science, what it is and what it is doing for mankind, are quite sure to receive some light on this subject and to become acquainted to some extent with the facts about the life and character of the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy.

Through the instrumentality of these lectures misconceptions, frequently due to misinformation or lack of information, are corrected, prejudice is removed, and many persons are made ready to begin and pursue the investigation and study of this most important of all subjects, scientific Christianity.

Every lecture on Christian Science sets forth, to a certain extent, the fundamental facts about God, man, and the universe. Every lecture displaces in some degree misunderstanding of God and of man and of his relationship to God. Every lecture in a measure destroys fear and displaces ignorance and superstition. Thus, in some degree, each lecture liberates, enlightens, regenerates, and heals those who listen to it in a receptive mood. But it should be remembered that the lecturer as a messenger of Truth can only bring this healing and redemptive message to the door of human consciousness and leave it there. It remains for the listener to open the door of his thought and take it in.
