Christmas

KATHRINE SCOBEY PUTNAM

Star-gleam and angel chorus
At midnight's awesome hour,
Self hushed and spirit waking
To welcome heaven's dower—
So learned the humble shepherds
Of Truth's eternal power;
So we may find and prove it
A stronghold and a tower.
