Christian Science is "honored" because it brings healing to the world—healing from sickness and sin. As it was the healing done by Jesus which first attracted attention to him and his teaching, so it is the healing of Christian Science which attracts attention to-day. Mrs. Eddy never claimed to have brought into existence anything new. Her claim to the gratitude of mankind is that she discovered for this and future generations the truth that has always existed, and founded a movement for its demonstration.

If there is any one thing made plain in the writings and teachings of Mary Baker Eddy, it is that suggestion is entirely apart from the activity of divine Mind, upon which Christian Science is based. The emanations of divine Mind are not suggestion. They are expressions of immortal Truth, which destroy mortal error of every name and nature with as scientific certainty as light destroys darkness, or an alkali neutralizes an acid. Healing in Christian Science is brought about by closer communion with divine Mind, and not by any suggestion that has its origin in the so-called carnal mind.
