[Written for the Sentinel]

Transformation

In letting in the light of Truth,
Where darkness long has been,
We may disclose a startling sin
And wish 'twere dark again.

But dwelling in this new-found light,
The self we had concealed
Is found, as sense of sin is lost
And Life and Truth revealed.

We need not sorrow for the sins
That Truth has brought to view,
But grateful be that this same Truth
Unfolds a self that's new.
