The Post

Referring to people calling themselves Christian Scientists, a critic is reported to have said, "They are neither Christians nor scientists." Anyone making that statement to-day in the face of the world-wide progress Christian Science has made, has a reckless disregard of fact and the opinion of intelligent people.

It is becoming so generally evident that such statements are only a confession of lack of knowledge as to what a scientific Christianity is, that we wonder anyone ventures to make them. There is nothing in the whole of Christian Science teaching that could be considered unchristian, or that would lead to a practice contrary to Christian ethics. Furthermore, it is demonstrably scientific; and thus does Christian Science honor Christianity as no other religion honors it, by proving its precepts and teaching to be demonstrable in practice.

"The facts," as Mrs. Eddy herself says (Science and Health, p. 341), "are so absolute and numerous in support of Christian Science, that misrepresentation and denunciation cannot overthrow it."
