Never a day passes but thought mounts in gratitude to God, the giver of all good, for the glimpses gained of His love and goodness through Christian Science. The realization that I am not sharing these blessings with others impels me to tell of a wonderful healing experienced some time ago.

One Sunday after the morning service I went to the home of a friend for luncheon, and remained there until late in the afternoon. The return to my own home involved a car ride of about an hour and a change of cars. As I stood on the curb near my friend's house, waiting for the car, I suddenly became conscious of a peculiar and very disagreeable sensation around the body under the arms. After we had boarded the car the difficulty increased so rapidly that I was unable to reply to the question of the friend who was with me as to what was the matter. It required a great effort to make the change of cars, and the suffering and difficulty in breathing became acute. Vivid pictures of the trouble touching the heart, of sudden death, the grief of my family, and so on, were presented.

All this time I had been striving to realize God's love and presence with me, and there was one thing I was able to remember. It was the spiritual interpretation of the first statement of the Lord's Prayer: "Our Father-Mother God,all-harmonious" (Science and Health, p. 16). I clung persistently to this, knowing that if God is the only power, and is all harmonious, then my birthright must be harmony, and I could not be deprived of it. Suddenly the suffering ceased, the crushing sense of oppression lifted, and I was free. I did not gradually grow better, but was wholly well within a few minutes. There was no after effect, no weakness or soreness. I left the car and walked to my home with a sense of joy and deep gratitude to God for Christian Science. I am grateful to be able to say that the healing is permanent and that there has been no return of any of the conditions. This was truly a wonderful healing. Besides this I have been healed of a badly injured ankle, walking in four hours so that those about me knew nothing of the trouble. An alarming internal condition also has disappeared.
