The greatest of all the blessings that have come to me in...

The greatest of all the blessings that have come to me in Christian Science is the understanding of the Bible, which was before unknown to me. On the first visit of a Christian Science practitioner, I was told that I should always study the Bible in connection with Science and Health, and I am so grateful for that. Christian Science has done much for me ; indeed all my problems are solved by realizing the truth as revealed to this age through Mrs. Eddy.

I turned to Christian Science in great tribulation, after having been in the hospital, where I underwent a major operation that was supposed to cure me, but instead I became steadily worse and in a year was a nervous wreck. The suffering was so great that I could not bear to see the sunshine or hear sounds, and for months was unable to walk on the street; but with the patient work of a practitioner, in three months I could go to her home. The complete healing was slow, but when tempted to be discouraged I would look back, and always found I had gained in some way. I took treatment four years before I could go along by myself. The Monitor was my daily cheer, for the Christian Science article on the Home Forum page always met a need and helped to uncover something in me to be destroyed. I am sure there are none who would be without the Monitor if they knew how helpful it is. I cannot express in words my gratitude for all our literature.

During my slow healing there was financial distress in my home. I however always desired to pay my debts promptly and fully, and by relying on divine Love I was able to pay for my treatments and take the literature. This testimony is sent with deepest gratitude to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for showing me the way to the Bible, and with the hope that it will bring encouragement to some one going along slowly but surely. I was often told my way would grow brighter unto the perfect day, and it surely has.
