Christian Science asks no favors, but it demands justice,...

Guthrie (Okla.) Leader

Christian Science asks no favors, but it demands justice, and grants to every one the right to worship God according to his greatest light. The weary and heavy laden are turning to Christian Science and are losing their burdens in the effulgence of a spiritual consciousness that transcends mortal concepts. Love, Life, and Truth, when understood, dispel the clouds of discord and doubt, and in their place leave the sunshine of peace, power, and prosperity. It is no mere theory, but a demonstrable fact, that when the love of good comes into consciousness, it leaves no room for its opposite. Ignorance and superstition are dispelled in proportion as the knowledge of God and His kingdom comes into the hearts and lives of men and women, and Christian Science is supplying every need by its revelation of the divine Mind as the source of all being. Thus it is freeing the world of its timeworn superstitions and dogmas, and in their place is giving the water of life that flows from the throne of the infinite, eternal God.

Christian Science is founded on absolute truth, and everything that does not measure up to that standard is not Science. Christian Science does not depend upon belief, but is demonstrable and practical. It does heal the sick and it does reform the sinner. It teaches its followers to accept the whole gospel and to practise as well as preach, to love God supremely and to love their neighbors as themselves. Christian Scientists revere their Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the wonderful good she has done and is doing for the world through her teachings. Christian Science makes men and women better morally, spiritually, and physically, as each sincere seeker for truth can verify for himself.

The Christian Science God is good, and His kingdom is good, and it may be established in the hearts of His children here and now instead of in a far-away future heaven. The Christian Science heaven is spiritual and perfect. It is revealed to the thought of those who come in childlike humility and who are hungering and thirsting for righteousness. To such it unfolds the unity and beauty of the Scriptures as nothing else does; it smooths out the rough places, and instead of the former heartaches, it gives the "oil of joy" and a satisfying concept of life that is enriched with the conscious presence of our loving heavenly Father.
