I desire to relate an incident where Christian Science overcame...

I desire to relate an incident where Christian Science overcame a so-called contagious disease. Over a year ago I was taken ill while at my place of employment, and became delirious. My family did not know what ailed me, but I was put to bed with a high fever. They tried to help me, but during the night the conditions became very alarming, and they telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. For three days and nights I lay in this condition, not being able to swallow at all, and on the third day my sister was taken ill with the same disease. A physician was then called to diagnose the case, and he pronounced it scarlet fever. At the very first we suffered terribly, and I nearly lost my eyesight; but in spite of this my sister was confined to her bed only seven days, and I ten days, when we both got up and dressed. From then on we were well physically, although it was three or four weeks before all the dead skin fell away. I wish to add that none of the ill effects which this illness is supposed to leave, affected us. My eyesight has been as good since then as it was before, that is, perfectly normal.

This is merely one of innumerable experiences in which Christian Science has proven itself a competent physician, when it might have gone hard with us had we relied on material instead of spiritual means.
